House to Home

In order to understand the unique problem that delays the construction of the house, Government of Assam decided that the representatives of Government would have a meal with PMAY-G beneficiaries and stay in their houses for one night. On 11th August 2018 more than 8000 representatives of P&RD Department had a meal and stayed in completed PMAY-G houses. This included Hon’ble Ministers, Hon’ble MPs, Hon’ble MLAs, officers and officials who were directly involved with the implementation of PMAY-G. People were motivated to complete the incomplete houses. Department could establish a personal connection with the beneficiaries. The houses were selected randomly by a computer program. Data was collected in a standard format and was analyzed to make decisions. Beneficiaries were sensitized up to a large extent on the PMAY-G program. The identified problem by the surveyors during the night stay was resolved within 2 weeks. This was followed by 3rd party surveyor visit to each and every PMAY-G house
